Land work does not stop when the brush is gone. Half the properties we clear need dirt moved next: a pad shaped, a driveway cut, drainage fixed, a pond opened back up. Oklahoma Mulch Works now runs excavation and dirt work as its own line, so the crew that opened your land can finish making it usable.

What falls under excavation for us

Building pads. House pads, shop pads, and barn pads cut, filled, and shaped after a site walk and measure.

Driveway cuts and gravel drives. Route cut against the fall of the land, base built to carry weight, water given somewhere to go.

Site grading and drainage shaping. Low spots that hold water, rutted ground after old dozer work, and yards that drain toward the house instead of away from it.

Pond digs and cleanouts. Case by case, priced by Josh after a walk. Bank clearing is standard mulching work; the dig itself is dirt work.

Structure and debris removal. Old sheds and outbuildings down and hauled, footprint left clean, tied into the dirt scope when a pad is going where the structure stood.

Clearing and dirt as one job

The usual path a property takes: clear the land, drop what is standing in the way, then shape the dirt. Splitting that across two or three contractors means three mobilizations, three schedules, and a finger-pointing session when something sits between two scopes. We scope it as one job with one flat number and one finish standard. The mulcher does what mulchers do best, the dirt gets moved where dirt iron does it best, and you hold one person accountable.

What we will not pretend to be

We are straight about the line. Septic system installation is a licensed trade; we prepare the site and the installer does the system. Deep utility work, engineered foundations, and commercial earthwork belong with outfits carrying that specific iron and insurance. Dirt work is a newer line for us than mulching, and early jobs may bring in experienced day-rate dirt help under our supervision. You still get one contract, one point of contact, and one standard.

How pricing works

Every excavation quote starts with a site walk. Cut and fill, soil, access, and where the water goes decide the number, so we do not guess over the phone. You get one flat total for a defined scope. If budget is tight we phase the work; we do not discount the rate.

What excavation work do you take on?

Dirt work tied to land prep: site grading, building pad cut and fill, gravel driveway cuts, drainage shaping, pond digs and cleanouts case by case, and clearing plus dirt scoped as one job. We walk every site first and quote one flat total.

Do you install septic systems?

No. Septic installation is a licensed trade in Oklahoma and belongs with a certified installer. What we do is prepare the site: clear the area, open access, and leave the ground ready for the septic contractor to work.

Excavation or mulching: which does my project need?

If the goal is getting vegetation off the land while keeping the topsoil, that is forestry mulching. If the goal is moving, shaping, or removing dirt, that is excavation. A lot of projects need both, in that order, and we scope them as one contract.

How does excavation pricing work?

Same as everything we do: we walk the site, measure what matters, and send one flat total for the scoped work. No hourly meter and no phone guessing. If a job needs iron or expertise beyond what we can deliver well, we say so on the walk.
